Embodiment & Movement

Olivia Berggren is a physiotherapist and body-centered movement teacher based in Sweden. Drawing from years of practicing and teaching yoga, she creates spaces for people to explore movement from the inside out, cultivating greater awareness, freedom, and connection with the body. Her work is grounded in a simple understanding: movement can be a powerful way of returning to ourselves, particularly during times of challenge and change.

Life's Work

Olivia Berggren is a physiotherapist and body-centered movement teacher based in Sweden whose work explores movement as a way of returning to the body and reconnecting with our sense of self.

With a background in physiotherapy and many years of practicing and teaching yoga, Olivia has gradually developed an approach that places less emphasis on achieving particular shapes and more on experiencing movement from within. Her classes move between subtle, attentive explorations and larger whole-body movements, inviting people to notice sensation, possibility, and the changing experience of being in their bodies.

Central to Olivia’s teaching is what she describes as “semi-free” movement. Rather than prescribing every movement or leaving participants entirely without direction, she offers a framework within which people have the freedom to explore. This balance of guidance and autonomy creates space for curiosity, personal expression, and discovering ways of moving that cannot always be reached by following instructions alone.

Olivia sees movement as particularly valuable during periods of challenge and change, when connection with the body and our sense of ourselves can become harder to access. Through movement, she invites people to meet areas of physical and emotional stagnation with attention and possibility, without demanding a particular outcome.

Her teaching ultimately offers movement not simply as exercise or technique, but as an ongoing practice of listening: an opportunity to become more familiar with our own experience, expand the ways we inhabit our bodies, and find our way back to ourselves.
